Nitrolized Fir Shavings: Nitrolized Fir Shavings are nitrogen fortified/stabilized to prevent drag (removal) from the soil. This product is particularly useful in sandy soil to aid in the retention of moisture, slowing percolation and leaching, and thereby aiding in the retention of nutrients.
Nitrolized Fir Chips: Nitrolized Fir Chips are nitrogen fortified/stabilized to prevent nitrogen drag from the soil. The particle size of this material is 3/8 minus and it is excellent as a soil amendment, improving the porosity for excellent drainage as well as good aeration in the soil. The product stands alone as a general soil amendment and is more resistant to decay than sawdust. It is also used as a supplement in other mixes.
